This is the week that we read of the completion of the Tabernacle. This is also the week that our family set as a goal for finishing the house we’ve been building for our daughter, son-in-law and their three small children. We worked with all our strength, but we did not accomplish our goal. Moshe did, however! Shemot 40:17 says that “in the first month, in the second year, on the first of the month, the Tabernacle was raised up.” Working together as a community and under the authority of the Almighty, they met HIS goal date.
I am passing along a 60 year old Jewish commentary from SichosinEnglish.org that I enjoyed this week. It is easy to parallel this teaching with what we understand to be the community of believers, made up of its various individuals….
