IM SHAMOA TISHMA!

kad-eshNow it shall be, if you diligently obey YHVH your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, YHVH your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Deuteronomy 28:1 NASB

Shabbat shalom dearly beloved!

The above promise was given to Israel thousands of years ago and it is still as powerful today as it was then. In the Hebrew the word for OBEY is the word SHMA that means to LISTEN, TO HEAR and TO OBEY. Most of us have heard the famous Hebrew declaration from Deuteronomy 6:4:
Shma Israel Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad.
Which means: Listen, hear and obey o Israel for YHVH our Elohim, YHVH is Oneness in plurality and is united within Him!

Recently I read an interesting article which will become part of a series by Michael Didier entitled "False Images."  Here are a couple of comments from that article -

- It is not so much the truth that a man knows, that gets him into trouble; but rather it is what he believes is true, that just ain't so.

""Arise, HaShem, may Your enemies be scattered"

(Numbers 10:35)
Sivan 17, 5772/June 7, 2012

This week's Torah reading, Beha'alotcha, starts off smart enough. Aharon, upon Moshe's instruction, (and G-d's prompting), lights the golden menorah: "Aharon did so; he lit the lamps toward the face of the menorah, as HaShem had commanded Moshe." (Numbers 8:3) There is something about the way in which the verse describes the commandment, both its origin in G-d's will, and it's instant performance by Aharon, which is reminiscent of "And G-d said, "Let there be light," and there was light."
