Parshas Vayechi

M'lochim I 2:1
This week's haftorah records the last moments of Dovid Hamelech's life and his parting charge to his son, the newly anointed Shlomo Hamelech. Dovid told his son, "Be strong and in full control of your emotions and guard all the Torah's precepts." (2:2,3) He assured Shlomo that if he and his descendants walked perfectly in the path of Hashem they would be guaranteed their prestigious position royalty forever. Dovid digressed then and reminded Shlomo about two powerful men, Shimi and Yoav, whose behavior could never be forgiven. Each was guilty of disgracing and publicly shaming the king. Shimi Ben Geira cursed Dovid and hurled stones at him while he fled from his conspiring son, Avshalom. Yoav ben Tzruya executed two opposing generals despite Dovid Hamelech's warm acceptance of their sincere peaceful gestures. Dovid, now on his death bed, instructed his son Shlomo to be sharp and alert and secure the execution of these two powe rful figures. He said, "And do as your wisdom dictates and do not permit him to die an old man." (2:6) After completing his instructions Dovid left this world with these parting words of revenge.

This final episode of Dovid Hamelech's life is perturbing. Although we undoubtedly recognize the need for such instructions their timing is very disturbing. Couldn't the aged king choose a more appropriate moment for these instructions? Wouldn't a more gentle climate be appropriate for Dovid when parting with his precious son? It seems that Dovid intentionally reserved these words to leave an impressionable image on his son.

In search for an understanding of this we direct our attention to Dovid's mild request inserted in the midst of these harsh commands. He said, "Act kindly towards the Barzilai children and host at your table because their father was close to me when I fled from your brother Avshalom." (2:7) Barzilai was very gracious to Dovid Hamelech and provided him food and shelter in his grave time of distress. Dovid was forever indebted to Barzilai for this and hosted the entire family at his royal table. Now that Dovid was leaving the world it became Shlomo Hamelech's responsibility to perpetuate this kindness. Dovid's parting request conveyed to Shlomo a keen sense of continuity- to view himself as Dovid's extension. He therefore instructed Shlomo to perpetuate this kindness and continue the royal practice of hosting the Barzilai family at his table.

Conceivably, this mild request was interspersed here to place these other commands in proper perspective. Apparently, Dovid Hamelech charged his son with the responsibility of perpetuating his father's name and honor. He sought to instill in Shlomo a sense of perfect continuity, to follow closely his revered father's path. For this same reason Dovid chose his parting moments to instruct his son about Shimi and Yoav. They brought Dovid much humiliation and indignation and certainly deserved execution. Yet, Dovid did not deem it appropriate to respond to their actions during his lifetime and left this matter an unfinished affair. Now that Dovid was leaving this world it became Shlomo's role to act on his father's behalf. Dovid reserved this difficult command for his last moments to convey to him his true role. He envisioned Shlomo following his fathers' perfect path and therefore left him with a powerful image of continuity. Dovid instructed Shlomo to begin his reign by com pleting what his father could not accomplish and to continue this path throughout his lifetime. Dovid informed Shlomo that if he perpetuates his father's honor and accomplishments he will never stray from the path and Dovid's household will be guaranteed royalty over Israel.

Indeed, Shlomo accepted his father's charge and fulfilled it to the best of his ability. In fact, Scriptures mention earlier Bas Sheva, Shlomo's mother's special bracha to her husband Dovid Hamelech. She said, "My master the king should live forever." (1:31) Malbim (ad loc) explains that the words, "live forever" refer to perpetuating Dovid Hamelech's reign through his son, Shlomo. These words had a major impact on her son as we clearly see from our haftorah's concluding words. Scriptures records Dovid Hamelech's forty year reign and concludes, "And Shlomo sat on his father Dovid's throne his kingdom was firmly established." (2:12) Ralbag and Malbim explain that this refers to the glaring phenomena that Shlomo ruled for exactly forty years. He followed so closely in his father's footsteps that he merited his exact years of reign. Dovid's dream was realized and Shlomo did become the extended image of his perfect father.

This lesson runs parallel lines with Yaakov Avinu's parting bracha to his beloved son Yosef. Moments before leaving this world Yaakov Avinu gathered his children and blessed them revealing to each his unique quality and role amongst the Jewish people. Yet, he showered an abundant bracha upon one particular son Yosef. The Torah expresses this in the following words. "Your father's blessings that superseded those of his predecessors. . . shall rest upon Yosef's head, the premier amongst the brothers." (B'reishis 49:26) Rashi explains that Hashem's bracha to Yaakov Avinu distinguished itself from those given to Avrohom and Yitzchok Avinu. Their brachos were of limited nature whereas Yaakov's bracha was unlimited and spanned the entire world. Yaakov now continued this tradition and bestowed upon Yosef this unlimited bracha.

We can appreciate this by analyzing Yaakov's introductory words to this bracha. He describes Yosef's superb inner strength in the following words, "And he firmly settled his power and adorned his arms with gold; this came from Yaakov's strength from where he became the shepherd of Israel." (Breishis 49:24) Rashi quotes the Sages who interpret this to refer to Yosef's incredible self control displayed during the irresistible seductive scene with Potiphar's wife. They reveal Yosef's true source of inner strength during his life's most trying challenge. Rav Yishmael said that at that crucial moment of overpowering temptation Yaakov Avinu's image appeared before his son and reminded him of his illustrious predestined position amongst his brothers. (see Rashi ad loc from Mesichta Sota 36b)

The upshot of this is that Yosef dedicated his life to personifying his father's supreme qualities. He was so similar to his father that his life's experiences echoed those of his father and even his facial features reflected Yaakov Avinu. (see Rashi to Breishis 37:2) His life's goal was to be a perfect extension of his father, disseminate his lessons to all and perpetuate his sterling character. Yosef's focus served as a constant reminder to him of his father's perfect ways. Even after total alienation from his entire household Yosef remained loyal to all his father's teachings. Although Yosef was subjected to the fierce immorality of Egypt he drew inner strength from his father and resisted the most powerful seduction of life. At that impossible moment he suddenly envisioned his father beckoning him not to succumb to passion. The mere image of Yaakov Avinu sufficed to release Yosef from the clutches of sin and flee from its tempting environment.

Yosef's unprecedented achievement earned him the title Yosef the righteous one. His fierce encounter with the repulsive Egyptian behavior helped shape his moral character into one of sanctity and purity. Yaakov alluded to this, as well, in his elaborate bracha to Yosef. He says, "Graceful son whose grace rose above the eye; maidens climbed the walls to catch a glimpse." (49:22) The Sages interpret this verse to refer to Yosef's supreme level of sanctity. Egyptian maidens tossed Yosef jewelry and ornaments for him to gaze their way but Yosef's eyes rose above this and never roamed freely throughout his entire reign in Egypt. (see Bamidbar Rabba 14:6) This purity and sanctity set the stage for Yaakov's household's descent to Egypt. Yosef's relentless commitment to the highest standards of sanctity served as a shining example for Yaakov's entire household and oriented them to their new home for the next two hundred and ten years.

Rabbeinu Avrohom Ben HaRambam explains that these outstanding qualities of self control and sanctity earned Yosef his special blessing. Upon reflection we realize that Yosef's perception of himself as his father's extension earned him his abundant bracha. Hashem bestowed upon Yaakov an unlimited bracha because he attained the highest levels of sanctity and piety. (see Breishis Rabba 69:2,3 and Ohr Hachaim to Breishis 28:13) . Now that Yaakov was leaving this world he sought to share this unlimited bracha with one who attained similar levels of piety and sanctity. Yosef who achieved outstanding piety and sanctity through maintaining his father's image became the perfect candidate for this bracha. Yaakov therefore transmitted to Yosef the unlimited bracha he received from Hashem for outstanding success and fortune in every aspect of life.

Parshas Vayechi
Sfas Emes, Zechuso Tagein Aleinu, Parshas Vayechi. 5631

The Sfas Emes begins by focusing on the parsha's first four words: "Vayechi Ya'akov be'Eretz Mitzrayim... " ("Ya'akov lived in Egypt..."). The Sfas Emes sees special significance in the Torah's decision to start the parsha with the word 'Vayechi' Why? Because the word "Vayechi" comes from the same Hebrew root as the words "chiyus" and "chayim". Those words resonate with a unique importance for the Sfas Emes. They signify 'truly' living; that is, living connected to one's Shoresh (root), i.e., to HaShem.

A basic question. How was Ya'akov Avinu able to experience chiyus (vibrancy; vitality) in Mitzrayim, a country well known to be a cesspool of tum'a (spiritual impurity) ? This question -- and the Sfas Emes's answer to it -- are of great practical interest to us. For, as we know, "ma'aseh avos siman lebanim". That is, the lives of our Patriarchs provide a paradigm for us, their descendants, to follow in our own lives.

The Sfas Emes answers : Ya'akov Avinu was able to live in the mode of chiyus -- i.e., to flourish spiritually -- even in Egypt because his identifying quality was Emes (truthfulness). That is, we know that Avraham Avinu's identifying trait was chessed --loving kindness. Likewise, Yitzchok Avinu had a signature trait--gevura ( discipline ). Ya'akov Avinu's special trait -- the feature that he lived with special intensity - - was Emes. In that vein, the pasuk (Micha, 7,20) tells us: ' Titein Emes leYa'akov '('Grant truthfulness to Ya'akov'). That quality of truthfulness enabled him to live with chiyus -- even in Mitzrayim.

How did this work? The Sfas Emes does not elaborate, presumably because he considers the answer to this question to be self-evident. I suggest that what he has in mind is the following. First, through his strict adherence to truth, Ya'akov Avinu was able to recognize that the ideas concerning metaphysics that were then current in Mitzrayim were falsehoods. We should not underestimate the attractiveness of those ideas. At that time, Egypt was the world's intellectual center. For this reason, the ideas circulating within that country's intellectual elite came with great persuasive power. But Ya'akov Avinu's firm grip on truth enabled him to know that those superficially plausible ideas were in fact intellectual booby traps.

I suggest that another way through which his quality of Emes enabled our forefather to live with chiyus even in Mitzrayim was his truthfulness to himself. To understand what I mean when I say that Ya'akov was truthful to himself, consider the opposite situation wherein we do not acknowledge to ourselves that we are doing wrong. Such intellectual dishonesty precludes the possibility of Teshuva. Indeed, the person may continue doing wrong, and do so with an air of self-satisfaction -- thus adding ga'ava (haughtyness) to his/her portfolio of aveiros.

Continuing his discussion, the Sfas Emes notes another condition that enabled Ya'akov Avinu to succeed: Simcha (joy). (I have the impression that the kind of Simcha that the Sfas Emes has in mind here is not ordinary, garden variety joy, but rather "transcendental simcha'. I use this term to describe joy that transcends the particular circumstances or conditions that a person is experiencing. In transcendental simcha, the person simply glows, perhaps because he/she feels at one with the Cosmos).

As the Sfas Emes recounts Ya'akov Avinu's experience in Egypt, Emes brought chiyus -- a closer connection with HaShem. Chiyus, in turn, brought Simcha. On this key point, the Sfas Emes cites the pasuk (Bereishis, 45: 27): "Vatechi ruach Ya'akov avihem." ('The spirit of their father, Ya'akov, took on new life.') The Sfas Emes introduces the explanation of the Zohar, which focuses on the word 'Vatechi' in that pasuk. The Zohar corroborates the Sfas Emes's interpretation that with chiyus -- to which the pasuk's word "Vatechi" refers -- Simcha also came to Ya'akov Avinu.

Simcha, in turn, had a marvelous effect. Because Ya'akov had been despondent over the loss of Yosef, he had lost the capacity for ruach hakodesh. For joy is one of the conditions necessary for a person to achieve that close contact with HaShem. With the advent of joy, Ya'akov was able to reconnect with ruach hakodesh. Further, as this account indicates, Chiyus and Simcha can be mutually-reinforcing. Starting with Emes, a person may generate a self-sustaining upward spiral. Thus, adherence to truth can help a person live his/her life with joy. And unburdened of negative feelings to life, the person can come still closer to an awareness of reality; that is, to recognition that the entire Cosmos draws its existence from HaShem.

Now the Sfas Emes moves on to a new topic. And since we are still in the first paragraph of the ma'amar of the year 5631, we will follow him to see what he says.

Rashi, following Medrash Rabba, comments on our parsha's first pasuk, and tells us: Ya'akov Avinu wanted to be megaleh (to reveal) 'the keitz' (the time of Moshiach's coming, and the end of golus) to his sons. But HaShem did not want him to do so; and blocked Ya'kov Avinu's access to the necessary information.

The Sfas Emes quotes his Grandfather -- the Chidushei HaRim -- who, in turn, quoted the Rav of Parshischa -- a great Tzaddik of the previous generation -- who asked a basic question: why did Ya'akov Avinu want to reveal the keitz to his sons? What good would it have done to Ya'akov Avinu's descendants if he had revealed the keitz to them?

To which question these three Tzaddikim respond with the following answer. In standard usage, the phrase 'to be megaleh the keitz' means: to reveal when Moshiach will come and the golus will end. By contrast, the Sfas Emes and his illustrious predecessors read this phrase as meaning: to reveal the fact that a keitz exists.

Now we know why Ya'akov Avinu's descendants would have benefitted if he had revealed the keitz to them. For, the Sfas Emes explains, knowing that the golus will end makes it easy ('be'nakeil') to experience the whole golus period -- regardless of how long it will last and when it will end. Indeed, says the Sfas Emes, if the fact of the keitz had been revealed, 'lo haya golus klal' (it would not even have been golus.) Why not? Because knowing that there is a keitz will give meaning to history, removing the impression that history is nothing but a sequence of random , painful events. Thus, knowing that there is a keitz would make it readily apparent that what we have been experiencing is only Hester, behind which HaShem is truly there.

Sweeter than Honey
What's In
A Name?

by haRold Smith
from Jerusalem, Israel

"And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it. It was sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it my belly was made bitter." Revelation 10:10

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!" Isaiah 5:20-21

"A full soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet." Proverbs 27:7

Sweet and bitter words have been laid before us to partake of as we will. Some of those words are sweet to the taste but become very bitter to the belly. Other words, while bitter to the taste, cause a sweetness that satisfies the belly - and ministers Life to our spirit. The choice is left to us as to which words we eat and what becomes a part of us.

How hungry are you for Truth today? Or, have you become so full, so sure of what you have come to believe that there is no room left for inspection? How far are you willing to go to embrace the fullness of Truth laid before you by the Father today? Be careful how you answer, for your answer could determine your station in eternity. Hard words of Truth that are meant to draw us nearer to the Source of Life become a stumbling block and a source of contention for those who do not embrace them (click on the highlighted words to view the scripture verses),

Are you willing to lay aside the encumbrances the tradition of men would have you to believe in order that you might abide in the Presence of the Source of Life - regardless of the cost? Or, are you content, is your belly full, in what other men have decided is Truth? Are you willing to partake of the Tree of Life for yourself regardless of how bitter that fruit may initially seem to taste? Or, do you desire to feed upon only what seems sweet? Are you even aware what encumbrances of tradition are in your life, preventing you from eating of that fruit and abiding in the Light it contains? How much darkness are you embracing unaware and calling it light?

It is amazing to listen to intelligent, thoughtful people who absolutely believe we are in the grips of a "worldwide conspiracy" perpetrated by evil men and, yet, are not able to see the most successful of all conspiracies placed right in front of their noses by what has been handed to them to believe through the tradition of men. For instance, are you aware that the Name of God, YaHoVeH, appears over 6,500 times in scripture - yet, not once does His Name ever appear in any of our "modern" translations? It has been replaced in these translations by the names Jehovah, Adonai or LORD - none of which has any equivalency appearing in the original Hebrew those scriptures were written in. Wherever you see the capitalization of "LORD" or "GOD" in the scriptures, that is where the Name of YHVH appeared in the original manuscripts. Why do you think that is? Did that just happen by accident - a quirk? Or was it by design? Does the term "replacement theology" come to mind?

the Name of Yahshua The same is true of the name "Jesus". For centuries, we have been taught that "Jesus" is merely the English equivalent to the Hebrew name given the "the Christ". The argument goes that names change depending upon the culture in which the name is spoken, despite the fact such is NOT the case with virtually every other Hebrew name one can think of. Even today people go out of their way to refer to an Israeli by his or her Israeli (Hebrew) name so as not to appear politically incorrect. Examples include Benyamin Netanyahu, Ariel Sharon, Ehud Barak and Yitzak Rabin among others.

If YOU were to go into another country with a predominantly different language, your name does not change - even if there is an equivalency in their language for your name. You are still who you were called by when you were birthed. You may be gracious in the face of ignorance that would insist on calling you something else but, after learning the truth of your name, to continue to call you something else would be rude and disrespectful. To be called by another name without your involvement, even with good intentions, would be an affront to you, your parents who named you and what your name stands for. Why, then, has it become necessary to change the Name of the Son of God and blatantly obliterate the Name of the One True God from the only books that speak to us of Who He Is?

Naming is the act of identifying the essence of something and causing it to be as a purpose in the life of the thing or person so named. The English language evolved out of Greek and Latin influences; thus, it embraces the inherent philosophies of those languages. While names in Greek and Latin tend to be abstract in nature, in Hebrew the word spoken and the thing identified are identical - they cannot be separated. It is what gives the person their identity. To say "God is good" is to also say "good is God" - they are the same. It is named as a purpose. Its purpose is to separate from the rest, to call apart - the definition of what it means to be "holy" (Strong's H6944 - Hebrew kodesh). Removing the name from the purpose is the same as causing it not to be.

Might it seem plausible then, that if the enemy is unable to convince us there is no God, what better way to capture us than to cause us to believe in another God unawares, calling it by another name to divert our focus? To embrace a religion that promotes a belief in a god other than whom the One True God says He is would bring us to a point of separation from the God of Truth as evidenced by the first and third commandments. That separation begins by changing the Name of God and, thereby, removing the Power inherent in that Name - causing it not to be.

Entire religious institutions have been built around the verse found in John 3:16 - but without the context of the following two verses and what those words originally meant. The word "condemned" used in this passage comes from the Greek word krino. "Condemnation" comes from a variation of that same Greek word, krisis. Both of those Greek words carry the same meaning - "to separate". What separates us from the Source of Life? Yeshua said that by not believing "in the Name" of the only Son of God we are already separated from the Father. Now, it does not say, "except for those who mean well". Re-read this passage again with the meaning of the words in place -

"For YHVH so loved the world that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in YHVH should not perish but have eternal life. For YHVH did not send His Son into the world to separate the world from Him (YHVH), but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not separated from Him (YHVH), but whoever does not believe is separated already, because he has not believed IN THE NAME of the only Son of God." John 3:16-18

Names mean things - the same way words mean things. From Genesis to Revelation, there is a distinctive emphasis in scripture placed on both the Name of God and the Name of the Son of God. So, if we are to understand Who the Son of God says He Is, we must start by understanding what His Name means The question then arises - just what is the true Name of the Son of God and what does it mean?

the Name of YHVH We must constantly be reminded that every letter in the Book was written by Hebrews from a Hebrew mindset out of a Hebrew culture to a Hebrew audience. Therefore, in scripture there are only two classifications of people - the Hebrew family of YHVH, known as the House of Israel and "others". These "others" are known as goyim (Hebrew for Gentiles) - the other nations. The term "Gentile believer" is an oxymoron (a concept that is made up of contradictory words) because to be a "Gentile" (from a Hebrew context) is to be a worshipper of pagan gods. A person is either a believer in the One True God of Israel OR they are a Gentile, an "other" - there is no middle ground. Therefore, anyone who thinks the Jewish parents of the Jewish Messiah that were strong adherents to the Judaic principles and lived in a Jewish contextual setting would give their son a Greek name is lacking in common sense.

How, then, did we get to the English name "Jesus" if His Name given at birth was Hebrew? Remember that the English language had not yet come into existence at the time of His Birth. Just as the English language evolved out of Greek and Latin underpinnings, so has the name "Jesus" evolved. Linguistically, however, there is a problem with the English letter "J". There is no comparable letter or sound to be found in either the Hebrew, Latin or Greek languages that even remotely resembles the English letter "J". In fact, the letter "J" did not even appear in the English language until roughly only 500 years ago during the Dark Age when knowledge was held captive and even possessing a Bible manuscript was punishable. So, the name "Jesus" and "Jehovah" (also surfacing around that same period) could not have possibly existed historically until only recently.

Until the letter "J" found its way into the English language, the Son of God was called by the Greek name Iesous. Strong's G2424 points to the Hebrew origin this Greek name is derived from as Yehowshuwa, The spelling police would want to deflect this discussion into an argument over the most proper way to spell a Hebrew name using English letters. Whether it is spelled Yeshua, Yahshua or Yahoshua the principal focus to be made is that His Name is Jewish - not Greek. Regardless of how it is spelled, the point of this discussion is to show that His Hebrew Name is formed from a derivative combination of two Hebrew words - YaHoVeH (the proper name for the Father, meaning the Present Presence and yasha' (Strong's H3467, meaning "delivers", or "saves"). From the Greek, "Iesous" was then transliterated into the Latin "Iesus" and, with the invention and substitution of the English letter "J" - to "Jesus" (NOTE: in the original 1611 version of the King James Bible there was no “J” letter contained in this manuscript because it did not yet exist. James was spelled "Iames" and Jesus was spelled "Iesous"). (ibid, Oxford Dictionary. Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Encyclopedia Americana).

"She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Yahshua (YAH delivers), for He (YHVH) will save His (Hebrew) people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

Who Are You? When the apostle Sha'ul (whose name was also replaced by "Paul") was delivering his testimony to Agrippas of his blinding encounter with the Son of YHVH in Acts 26, he says that this Spirit spoke to him in the Hebrew language and told him His Name was "Jesus" - but, how can that be if the name "Jesus" was non-existent at the time and is not found in Hebrew? And don't you think that the Son of God would have known what His own Name was in Hebrew?

The Hebrew name given to the Son of God at birth is Yeshua and means "YHVH delivers", thus fulfilling the promise YHVH made to sens a Messiah through which He would redeem His People.

The Greek word christos (from which we get "Christ") is also a contrived word meaning anointed one, savior of mankind and was manufactured to take our eyes off of Yahshua as the Messiah of Israel sent as a kinsman redeemer to pay the ransom required to restore YHVH's family of Israel to its original state of relationship with Him enjoyed in Gan Edan (the Garden of Eden). YHVH is not the God of mankind - He is defined as and defines Himself as the "Holy One of Israel". There is no such word as "christ" in Hebrew. Hence, just as there is no "christ", there can be no "anti-christ" - there is only anti-Messiah of which there have been and will continue to be many. To not believe in the Name of the Messiah of Israel is to believe in something other than the Messiah YHVH promised to His Hebrew people.

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

What difference does it make which version of His Name is used? After all, He knows my heart - right? Aren't they all talking about the same God anyway? No, they are not. To simply call darkness Light does not make the darkness any brighter and is an affront to the True Nature of Light. Light and darkness cannot abide in the same space at the same time - it is a universal law. To pray over darkness as though it were Light does not change the properties of what makes darkness, dark - regardless of how well intentioned my motivation may be. If the properties of His Name, the Nature and Characteristics inherent in that Name, are dismantled from His Name it causes Him not to be - He is replaced by something else and that something else becomes another god. The Power of His Name becomes severed from our lives.

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Yeshua Messiah is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11

This information places a conflicting emphasis on the words of John 3:16-18 from the tradition we have been handed. Now we can see that it is being in the Presence of the Source of Life, of Light, YaHoVeH, which delivers us from the bondage of darkness and becomes our salvation as we embrace Who He Is. Revelation 19:10 tells us to worship the Father, not the Son. We are told to hold to theTestimony of the Life of the Son which consistently pointed to the Father. As light is shed on Who is our savior, the whole of post-Resurrection writings takes on an entirely different texture. So, then - what was the purpose of Yahshua, if not to save all mankind? (see the Gospel). His Purpose was to restore to Israel that avenue to relationship in the Presence of the God Who abides in eternity that they might be the "Light to the Nations" - through which that same pathway into the Presence of Life He desired from the beginning is offered. When we access that pathway to abide in the Presence of the Eternal One today, this is what is known as "Eternal Life".

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me (YHVH) has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." Yahshua in John 5:24

December 25th Birth of the Antichrist
By Maria Merola
Pictured here is the god that is worshiped in Freemasonry called “Baphomet.” He is actually Satan the “horned god” who is half human with the head of a goat. His astrological sign is “Capricorn” the goat beginning on the Zodiac Cycle from December 22nd through January 21st. Back in 1981, before I was born again, I had dabbled in the Zodiac and I found a book entitled “Jesus Was a Capricorn.” Even Kris Kristofferson had written a song entitled “Jesus Was a Capricorn” back in the 1970’s which became popular. You see Satan wants us to believe that Yahu’shua (Jesus) was born on December 25th because he wants us to believe that “Jesus was a reincarnation of Lucifer.” In other words, Satan wants to be Jesus the Messiah so that he can be worshiped!

Why Does Satan Like December 25th for the Birth of Messiah?
Ever since the Tower of Babel, beginning with Nimrod and his reincarnated son Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14), there have been many pagan false Messiahs. Each of these characters are fallen angels who took on the identity of “ascended masters” who were supposedly reincarnations of the “Universal Christ” for all religions. In essence, this is “Gnosticism” the false doctrine that teaches that “Yahu’shua (Jesus) the Messiah of Israel did not come in the flesh.”  This doctrine teaches instead that our Messiah was merely a reincarnation of all the other pagan gods who came before him on December 25th. This is how Satan has been preparing the entire world to accept the Antichrist. He has been doing this since the beginning of the creation by gradually changing the truth into a lie so that even the “elect” could be deceived.
Why do the pagans want to associate the real Yahu'shua Messiah (Jesus Christ) with the date of December 25th? The answer is quite simple. December 22nd begins the Zodiac cycle of “Capricorn” the “Goat of Mendez” which is also Satan or Baphomet, the “horned god” who is worshiped by Satanists and High Degree Masons. The pagans want us to believe that Yahu’shua Messiah (Jesus Christ) was a reincarnation of Lucifer on December 25th the month of “Capricorn the Goat”!
Capricorn is Capricornus a Latin compound of “goat-head.” “Capra” means head in Latin while “cornus” means horn. The original Greek Aegocerus means “goat-horned.”

The name “Santa Claus” & Anagrams
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to transform “Satan” from “Santa”? Just move the letter “N” to the end. And presto! “Satan” appears. . .
An internet Google search on “Satan Claus” [not Santa Claus – but SATAN Claus] found over 1,700 hits! Obviously, there are many that tie the two together.
The rearranging of letters (called anagrams) to hide secret names or words has long been practiced in the occult. The Jewish Encyclopedia writes of the Jewish occult book called the Kabbala:
The golden age for anagrams began with the Kabbalah. The Platonists had strange notions as to the influence of anagrammatic virtues, particularly of anagrams evolved from names of persons. It is not surprising, therefore, that the Kabbalists, like all the Neoplatonists, pretended to discover occult qualities in proper names and in their anagrams.
Another name for Satan is Sanat. He also likes to be called “Natas” which is a root word for the name “Natasha” in Russian this is a word that means “Christmas.”
He simply rearranges the letters in his name at will. Who wears a red suit and claims to be “omnipresent” (everywhere at once) and “omniscient” (all-knowing) like God?
The song “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” says: “…he sees you when you’re sleeping; he knows when you’re awake.”
But this is blasphemy against the one true God of Israel YHWH. Who comes out of a “fire” place? Who takes the attention away from our Messiah Yahu’shua (Jesus Christ)? Who entices children with materialism? Santa is often referred to as “Father Christmas.” The word “mas” pertains to the Catholic mass wherein our Messiah Yahu’shua (Jesus) is crucified over and over again. The Roman Catholic Church took the pagan holiday called “Saturnalia” for “Sat” or “Satan” and changed it into the birthday of our Messiah Yahu’shua (Jesus)----another identity switch of Yahu’shua (Jesus) for Satan.
Saturn is “STUR” in Chaldean for Nimrod.
One of the most well-known anagrams in the occult world is the name of Sanat Kumara. Sanat is better known as Satan. Constance Cumbey, writes in her best-selling, New-Age expose, The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, . . . they [New Agers] freely call Sanat Kumara (Satan) 'God'. And their doctrinal reference books by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Alice Ann Bailey freely cross-reference Sanat Kumara with Venus. In occult writings, Lucifer and Venus are one and the same." (Constance Cumbey, The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, p. 138)
Texe Marrs writes of ‘Sanat’ in Dark Secrets of the New Age:
“. . . the New Age offers a being called Sanat Kumara. ‘Sanat’ is obviously a thinly veiled reference to Satan; nevertheless, New Age teachers evidently believe that the new spelling will alleviate the concerns of those not yet ready to confess Satan as their Lord and Messiah…..” Texe Marrs, Dark Secrets of the New Age, pp. 79-80 Interesting.
. . Where does that put Lord S-A-N-T-A?
H.P. Blavatsky, the Satanist and new age teacher writes in The Secret Doctrine:
“…Many a mysterious sacred name. . . conveys to the profane ear no more than some ordinary, and often vulgar [common] word, because it is concealed anagrammatically or otherwise…” H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol II, p. 78
Like S-A-N-T-A?
Blavatsky also writes, “…the name is not important – but the letters.”
“The name isn't important. It is the letters….” H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol II, p. 350  Blavatasky’s anagrams were used to disguise who her true god was. Blavatasky openly taught Satan is mankind’s true redeemer, creator and Saviour.
And now it stands proven that Satan, or the Red Fiery Dragon, the ‘Lord of Phosphorus’ and Lucifer, or ‘Light Bearer’, is in us; it is our Mind — our tempter and Redeemer, our intelligent liberator and Saviour. . .HP Blavatasky, The Secret Doctrine p. 513
Satan, the Serpent of Genesis is the real creator and benefactor, the Father of Spiritual mankind. For it is he . . . who opened the eyes of the automaton (Adam) created by Jehovah. . . he still remains in Esoteric Truth the ever loving messenger . . .H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol 3, p. 243
Gail Riplinger writes in her excellent book, “New Age Bible Versions” on the use of anagrams in the occult world:
“Lucifer's True Identity as Satan is Revealed as the Anagram, a Transposition of Letters, To Obscure It. “Blinds,” as esoterics call them, include scrambling the letters of a name to hide the true meaning of a word from the uninitiated…”--- Gail Riplinger, New Age Bible Versions, p. 52
It is interesting Mrs. Riplinger also raises a red flag about the anagram Santa:

“Gods of the New Age include Sanatan and Sanatsiyata, . . . New Agers say each name is ‘concealed anagrammatically’ ‘and are aliases,’ and are 'an anagram used for Occult purposes. Is Santa, the great usurper of Christ's attention at Christmas, an anagram? “Ole Nick” is listed among the fallen angels or devils in the Dictionary of Fallen Angels. Scholars concur that Christ was born in the fall on the 4th day of the feast of tabernacles. December 25th is actually "the feast in honor of the birth of the son of the Babylonian queen of heaven, later called Saturnalia by the heathen Romans….”---Gail Riplinger, New Age Versions, p. 52
It is also worth noting, Santa is Spanish for holy. Santa is also from the Latin word Sanctus which means also saintly, holy. Our English words “saint, sanctify, et al” comes from Santa. Sounds like Satan’s “I will be like the most High" plan is in action.
Is “Claus” another anagram for “Lucas”?
It’s no secret Lucas and Lucis are new-age “code words” for Lucifer. The Alice Bailey founded new age, occult publishing company was originally named Lucifer Publishing Company but in 1924 the name was cleverly changed to Lucis Trust. By the way, the Lucifer worshiping Lucis Trust is a major player in the works of the United Nations formerly located in the United Nations building but now located on prime-time 1200 Wall Street.
It’s no coincidence that Santa Claus sounds like “Satan's Claws” for he is described as one who comes like a roaring lion to devour:
1st Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Well…..The Name “Santa Claus” Literally Means Satan Claws!
Where did the “Klaus” in “Santa Claus” come from?? Santa “CLAWS” (Claus) literally comes from the meaning behind the “Claws” of Krampus, the Devil!
The name Krampus originates from the Old High German word for claw (Krampen).
As time passed Krampus’ feet were replaced with “CLAWS” or sometimes with hooves and (sometimes one of each) and his body itself became covered in fur and he wore little or no clothing. Sometimes a common “devil” type tail is also added. Eventually his tongue became obscenely long as did his horns.
Since the demon Krampus comes from the word for claw, we can soundly suggest that Santa Claus and Satan Claws come from the same Evil Root.
Krampus – “The word Krampus originates from the Old High German word for CLAW (Krampen)”…..Paganism in the Eastern Alps Article; “Krampus” http://www.Answers.com/
“Krampus is the survivor of a pagan tradition that preceded Christianity and the word Krampus originates from the Old High German word for CLAW (Krampen).” ……Christmas in Salzburg and Linz 2005, Austria Travelers, Special Interest Tours in Austria
