Walking in Torah Ministries
"Taking in the Word and Walking it Out."

9th day of 1st Aviv, 6011c
Dear,

Greetings my brethren! This week we finish our teaching series on
"The Sabbath". This week's topic is: "What are the Blessings of Keeping the Sabbath?" This session looks at what the blessings in keeping sabbath are and some ideas are shared on how to keep the Sabbath (there is no formula; it is all about relationship). This session concludes with a lively song from Barry and Batya Segal, "We Delight in your Shabbat".

We live in the fast paced information age, in a time of great acceleration. We become so busy with instant messaging, errands and tasks, work and home responsibilities. Ever feel like there is not enough time in a day? Yet, we all have the same 24 hours in a day.
I believe one of the strategies of the enemy is to keep us so busy (even doing "good" things, like serving in ministry) that we don't have time for intimacy and relationship.
We have disciplines in life; the discipline of work, the discipline of learning a new skill, the discipline of prayer.

What keeps coming to my mind is "the discipline of rest". It seems like I have to build a fence around the 24 hour period from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, to guard that time, to keep it truly set apart to be with Yahweh and his people. Many distractions and interruptions do come; temptations to get a task done. It is so easy to be "driven" and to behave like a servant/slave instead of behaving like a son or daughter of the king. We have lived in Egypt too long: we have to learn how to rest!

Yahweh is showing me how to be a sheep and "lie down" in a green pasture and just be in His presence. Whether I am alone on a particular Shabbat and soaking in His word and in worship or whether I am in a fellowship group, involved in a lively midrash, He wants to meet with me and with you. Truly it is an appointed time!
May you be greatly blessed as complete this study on the Sabbath. May the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) be your counselor, teacher and guide.

Blessings and shalom,

Laura Densmore

Nehemiah Prayer Song
Beautiful Prayer Song Based on Nehemiah's Prayer
Enjoy this beautiful prayer song based on Nehemiah 1: 1-11:

"We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not guraded the commands, nor the laws, nor the right-rulings which You commanded Your servant Mosheh. Please remember the word that You commanded yhour servant Mosheh, saying "If you trespass, I shall scatter you among the peoples, but if you shall turn back to Me, and guard My commands and do them, though you were cast out to the end of the heavens,  I shall gather themfrom there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen, to make My Name dwell there.'    Neh 1: 7-9

Leviticus 16:1-18:30, Malachi 3:4 -3:24, John 7:1-52

The Torah portion title comes from the first words of the first verse of the reading, which say, "Now the LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron" (Leviticus 16:1). Leviticus 16 describes the Tabernacle ceremony for the holy festival of the Day of Atonement. Leviticus 17 establishes general rules for animal sacrifice and the sanctuary. Leviticus 18 lays down specific laws concerning permitted and forbidden sexual relationships.
