Can we do תפילות prayers for:
Ephraim & Rimona Frank?
So that through them The האור Light, רפואה The Healing and The ואהבה Love of ישועת יהוה Yeshuath YHWH may come back to הארץ The Land of Israel?Shalom Fellow Israelite,
In the last Friday letter (514) I quoted Romans 13:12: “Put on the armor of light… put on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (emphasis added). How do we put on Yeshua?
What does it mean to put Him on? If we are already in Him through the provision of the grace of our Heavenly Father, what more is there to do? I think that what Paul is driving at, is that we need to come to know and understand the One to whom we have been joined, or have been immersed into. This would also apply to the soldier who needs to learn and understand the armor that is meant to protect and defend him. Thus, during basic training the warrior-to-be must be taught what each item of clothing represents and its function. He learns to put on every part of his ‘clothing’ in the order in which he is instructed. Every part has its exact placing on his body. The Psalms provide us with an example of being ‘clothed’: “I will also clothe her priests with salvation… His enemies I will clothe with shame…” (Psalm 132:16-18). Isaiah makes an observation about YHVH, as He manifests Himself through Messiah: “For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak” (Isaiah 59:17). Being a reference to Messiah, these words describe the very same armor that Paul elaborates on in Ephesians 6.
David’s conduct is a good example as to the ‘usage,’ or the ‘wearing’ of the armor of Elohim. First he refused to go to battle aided by Saul’s armor and sword (man’s abilities and methods). David faced the giant solely with the knowledge of the Elohim of the Armies of Israel. He had clothed himself in the strength of his Elohim. Therefore we can glean from his psalms on how to be clothed in the garments of war. From our perspective, knowing Yeshua as the fullness of YHVH toward us, it becomes imperative that we have a similar perception (as David’s). Yeshua carries the titles/names of the Father, especially the name that is above all names “Yeshu-ah” – salvation , mentioned in Ephesians 6 as the protective helmet. Furthermore, within Yeshua are also all the other identifying titles/names designating the Holy One’s attributes. Hence when we come to know Him in accordance with the names of YHVH, we will be putting on the One in whom we are immersed and who is our covering.
When we originally embraced the foundational doctrines of our faith, they had not become a reality to us. But, as mentioned, through revelation-knowledge we are brought to the reality of truth. So, since we have to know the One whom we are “putting on,” we can say like David: “YHVH is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? YHVH is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). In this example “Salvation” is not just a concept, or even an action that is to be understood in the context of what has been accomplished for us. In actuality, it is the very person of our Elohim. Within the framework of the Hebrew language, we would experience a relationship with “Elohey Yeshuatee” – Elohim being that salvation.
To use another example; all of us are frequently engaged in prayers for healing, hoping that those whom we are praying for will indeed become well. If that indeed takes place, more often than not both parties (the one praying and the recipient) are under the impression that it was through the prayer that the request was “granted,” not knowing YHVH Rof’ee (see for example, Exodus 15:26), “my Healer.” We cannot separate the healer from the healing - they are one and the same. Similarly, many think that ending a prayer “in Jesus’s name,” or “in Yeshua’s name” is a prescription for Elohim to answer their requests; not realizing that the reason for its usage is to let us know in Whom we have the healing.
What was Yeshua’s response to the woman who was healed from the issue of blood? "Who touched Me?" When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?' But Yeshua said, "Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me" (Luke 8:45-46). Something of Yeshua Himself went forth, out from Him, and touched the woman’s faith. She believed that in the person of this Man was her healing. Keeping this example in mind, I want to present several other descriptive titles/names that identify the One who is our protection, our armor:
Yeshuatee (my Salvation); Chizkee (my Strength); M’gee’nee (my Protector, or Shield); Ma’oozee (my Strong Tower); Misgabee (my Stronghold); Moshi’ee (my Deliverer); M’tzuda’tee (my Fortress); Mach’see (my Shelter); Tzid’kee (my Righteousness); Tikvatee (my Hope); Oree (my Light); Ro’ee (the One Who sees and provides for me); Ozee (my Strength).
These are just some of the titles accorded to YHVH depending on our need. Let us now look at the armor of Elohim in Ephesians 6 in the light of the Messiah: Yeshua is the girdle of Truth (see John 14:6), He is the breastplate of Righteousness (see Jeremiah 23:6). He is the epitome of the Gospel of Peace (see Ephesians 2:14); He also is the Shield of our Faith (see Ps. 119:114) with which we will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. He is the Helmet of Salvation (see Isaiah 59:17), and of course the Sword of the Spirit, which is His Word (ref. Ephesians 6:14-17).
The strength of this armor is totally dependant on our knowledge of the Messiah of YHVH as the manifestation of every one of the above-mentioned, all of which are needed for our defense and protection. Before we pick up our weapons to do battle against the enemy, we must make sure
that we have “put on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and are clothed in His strength” (see Psalm 28:7).
Shabbat Shalom,
Ephraim
