[RTM Torah Portions] - Connections From a Friend

Can we do תפילות prayers for:

the Robinson's?

That through them The האור Lightרפואה The Healing and The ואהבה Love of ישועת יהוה Yeshuath YHWH may come back to הארץ The Land of Israel?

Shalom,

Just wanted to share with you some connections that my friend John Miller found recently.  I think he's on to something!  : )

Gen 34:2  Sh'kem, son of a ruler
2 Sam 13:1  Amnon, son of a ruler

Gen 34:2  Sh'kem grabbed her, raped her, humiliated her
2 Sam 13:11-14  Amnon grabbed her, raped her, shamed her

Gen 34: 7  outrage commited against Israel, something simply not done
2 Sam 13:12  Things like this arn't done in Israel

Gen 34:5  Jacob restrained himself (didn't speak either good or bad)
2 Sam 13:22  Absalom refused to say anything good or bad because he hated Amnon

Gen 34:7  Sons angry when they heard the news
2 Sam 13:21  David was angry when he heard the news

Gen 34:13-17  Jacobs sons acted deceitfully to get Sh'kem at a disadvantage
2 Sam 13:26-27  Absalom acted deceitfully to get Amnon at a disadvantage

Gen 34:25-26  Men struck down when unable to defend themselves
2 Sam 13:28-29  Amnon struck down when unable to defend himself

Gen 34:25-26  All men killed
2 Sam 13:30  David thought all men (his sons) killed

ps.  If you come up with connections like this, feel free to send them to me.  I love collecting them as they help me see things I've missed and you never know what will blossom from a group of really good thematic connections!  Everything I teach begins with an analysis like the one above.

Shabbat Shalom,

Tony,

pss. terrible, terrible, shabbat will be ending here momentarily, argh!
