Psa 107:1  O  give thanks unto Yahweh, for He is tov (good); ki l'olam chasdo (for His mercy endures forever).

Psa 107:2  Let the Geulei (redeemed of) Yahweh) say so, whom He hath redeemed from the yad tzar (hand of distress);

Psa 107:3  And gathered them out of the lands, from the mizrach (east), and from the ma’arav (west), from the tzafon (north), and from the yam (sea).

Psa 107:4  They wandered in the midbar (dessert) in a desolate region; they found no derech (way) to an ir moshav (inhabited city).

Psa 107:5  Re'evim (hungry) and tzeme'im (thirsty), their nefesh (soul) fainted within them.

Psa 107:6  Then they cried unto Yahweh in their tzoros (troubles), and He delivered them out of their distresses.

Last week’s letter ended with… “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Elohim for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Messiah” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 emphasis added).  Thus far we have been concentrating on our non-carnal weapons, that is, on our spiritual cache.  This week we are going to start looking at the enemy’s camp. What are the above mentioned strongholds of the enemy, where are they and how did they get there?

In last week’s letter we covered most of the “devices” that are in the armory of the Holy Spirit.  But before continuing, there is one more among those “tools” that I want to focus on, and that is “prophecy.”  Upon hearing this word many feel ill at ease or are even put off, as it is perhaps the most misused, abused and misunderstood of all the gifts of the Spirit.  The apostle Paul emphasized the importance of this gift in the following words:  “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy…For he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men” (1 Corinthians 14:1, 3).  Let us look at each of the last three terms a little more closely.

'Isa 11:13  And the envy of Ephrayim shall turn aside, and the adversaries of Yehuḏah be cut off. Ephrayim shall not envy Yehuḏah, and Yehuḏah not trouble Ephrayim. 
Isa 11:14  But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; together they plunder the people of the east, their hand stretching forth on Eḏom and Mo’aḇ, and the children of Ammon shall be subject to them.'
