That through them The האור Light, רפואה The Healing and The ואהבה Love of ישועת יהוה Yeshuath YHWH may come back to הארץ The Land of Israel?Shalom v'Chag Chanukah Sameach!
During this week of Chanukah, we always read this particular drama-filled story about Yosef and his brothers as they must go to Egypt to buy grain during the famine. Interesting isn't it, that the name of the reading, Miketz, means "in the end." A bit of meditating easily takes us to an "in the end" scenario where somewhat of a repeat of the events of Chanukah occur. How does this fit in with our Torah story? We know that there will also be a famine in the end times, but this time it will be a famine "of hearing the words of Yah."
Amos 8:11 " Behold, the days are coming," says Adonai YHWH, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of YHWH.
An interesting detail in the Yosef story is that their money was constantly returned to their bags. They never actually paid for the grain they needed for life. Catch the parallel in Isaiah:
Isaiah 55:1 "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat.Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for what is notbread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
It seems that the key to eating in the future "with no money" is that He tells us to "Listen carefully." The Hebrew is literally "Shema, Shema" to Me. Anything else you "spend money" on is not really "bread" that will"satisfy." In the Yosef story, the real price for the grain became Benjamin, whose name means "son of my right hand." He became the picture of the future price for the bread of life.
Okay, I'd like to pass along a good read for Chanukka - http://www.bereansonline. org/enews/hanukkah-2.pdf
