Did you ever work at a tedious job and wonder if the Father was trying to teach you something?  I know that the Father has chosen the concepts of agriculture as a way to teach us Kingdom principles.  So, when I found myself alone for hours on my hands and knees in the dirt, on a cold morning with the ruach (wind) blowing briskly, I looked for the lesson.

In Yosef's revelation to his brothers, he expresses how it was the Hand of Elohim on him that brought him to Egypt.  And the reason?

Bereshith 45:7 But Elohim sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

Shalom v'Chag Chanukah Sameach!

During this week of Chanukah, we always read this particular drama-filled story about Yosef and his brothers as they must go to Egypt to buy grain during the famine.   Interesting isn't it, that the name of the reading, Miketz, means "in the end."  A bit of meditating easily takes us to an "in the end" scenario where somewhat of a repeat of the events of Chanukah occur.  How does this fit in with our Torah story?  We know that there will also be a famine in the end times, but this time it will be a famine "of hearing the words of Yah."

Sometimes you just can't plan how the day will go.  Last Friday, our young son-in-law was admitted to the hospital with what the Dr.'s called "a 7 centimeter mass" in his stomach.

I just listened to President Obama address the United Nations Assembly.  I heard something out of his mouth that I hope is true...America's commitment to Israel's security is unshakable.  He mentioned how many of Israel's citizens have been killed by terrorists and how Israel's children grow up knowing that other children are taught to hate them.  Also, how surrounding unfriendly nations desire to wipe them off of the map.  And he mentioned that the holocaust happened.  He called it a fact.  OK, I'm trying to be positive about some of what he said.
